Thomas Albert Blamey (b. Jan. 24, 1884, New South Wales-d. May 27, 1951) was an Australian general serving in World War I with the 1st Australian Division (Gallipoli, 1915) and on the Western Front. From March 1942 through the end of World War II, he was commander-in-chief of the Australian Military Forces.
